I respect their position as military veterans but I’d rather stand in deference during the pledge of allegiance and the national anthem to honor the brave men and women that fight to keep this country safe and free than kneel like I’m giving up my own freedom.

That's your prerogative. But, they do what they do so Kaepernick has the ability to express himself in this manner. That is the very thing they fought for.

Right, I rather honor them than express myself in such a way that from my perspective it disrespects their sacrifices for this country.

Fair enough. Luckily for kaepernick, they don't see it that way. They're very resource efficient. If such freedoms are squandered and wasted out of respect of what they do so you can have that right, that's when they see it as a waste. The reason Marines aren't allowed to wear BDUs or dress outside of formal functions is they don't want civilians to feel guilt for their sacrifice. My brother told me that who's a sergeant in the corps

They don’t need to, I just want to pay my respects by standing up for them and this country my way and not by taking a knee like Kaepernick.

Your prerogative, just as kaepernick has his and is respected just as equally

I don’t respect him at all tbh. I respect you for letting me get out what I wanted to say though. :)

The freedoms we enjoy in this country, among them the freedom to criticize our own government, are what these men and women fought and died for. Including Kapernicks taking a knee for our national anthem. BUT, the fact that he is allowed to protest our country in the way that he does proves the point that this isnt a racist country at its core. I always say to these bitch ass crybabies of all colors, creeds and sexual persuations that say America is so racist, sexist, ect ... try taking your complaints to another country like maybe Russia, China, Iran ect... and see how that works out for you. Kapernick taking a knee in Iran would most likely end with him losing his head. Yet to him, we're the Great Satan. He's just another millionaire tool who woulnt know oppression unless it threw him in a Gulag.

You say America isn't racist, yet kaepernick has received countless racial epithets for his display use of the first amendment, and threats to his life. So...?

"isn't a racist country AT IT'S CORE." All countries contain individual racists of ALL colors and creeds (Looking at you Louis Farrakahn...) If America was a country based on racism he wouldnt have any govt sanctioned free speech rights ... like i said, have him pull his publicity stunts in China, see what happens. I suppose that makes China a REALLY racist country? Perhaps he should start his protesting there rather than a country like America that actually allows dissent. I hear plenty out of the NBA about how racist America is, ZERO from them on China and its human rights abuses and racist oppression of Tibet. I don't blame them though ... the NBA makes serious bank off China ... dont want to piss off one off your biggest customers over a little thing like human rights.

>> Looking at you, GQP.

If America was a country based on racism he wouldnt have any govt sanctioned free speech rights ...
>> You can maintain the illusion of freedom while still permitting implicit racism. Inaction is the same as action. We need federal hate crime laws to ensure that we are not complicit in permitting racism in our country. So, yes, we are racist.

like i said, have him pull his publicity stunts in China, see what happens. I suppose that makes China a REALLY racist country?
>> Aren't they putting an entire race of people in internment camps? So, I guess yes?

Perhaps he should start his protesting there rather than a country like America that actually allows dissent.
>> Or maybe you should go there where people aren't allowed to dissent.

I hear plenty out of the NBA about how racist America is, ZERO from them on China and its human rights abuses and racist oppression of Tibet.
>> Because the NBA has no interest in China. America is filled with racists. *looks at the GQP* At least 30-40% of the USA.

I don't blame them though ... the NBA makes serious bank off China ... dont want to piss off one off your biggest customers over a little thing like human rights.
>> It appears to me you have China Derangement Syndrome. Looking at your arguments, you're throwing spaghetti at the wall trying to see what sticks. Next time you want to come at someone, research your shit first instead of shooting your mouth off half-cocked.
