Well, it depends how you look at it. A dictatorship is not just one thing, but many, there a military dictatorships, political dictatorships, etc. etc. While one of the most obvious dictatorships was Nazi Germany, take into account that in a monarchy can easily become a monarchial dictatorship. Chinese dynasties are technically restricted dictatorships, but again, can easily become a militaristic dictatorship.
