Very long, yes. I just never felt like I was in the wrong body or unhappy with being called male. I never strongly felt male either. It took actual thinking about gender to even start questioning it but at the age of now almost 30 I have finally figured out that I simply don't need a gender because it's just a social construct that doesn't apply to me. I'm still comfortable with whatever pronouns (although I like "it" the most), I'm still comfortable with my "biologically male attributes" (because while I don't have a gender I do have a sex), I get pretty uncomfortable when being called a man or confronted with classic gender stereotypes though.
