Let’s paint a picture: a group of researchers goes to Africa to study lions. The put a bunch of steak in a pile near a pride of lions, with no fence. The only obstacle to the lions entry is a sign that says “no lions allowed.” What will the lions do? Eat the steak. This is the exact same situation for gun free zones. Somebody who wants to commit a mass shooting is not going to listen to a sign that says “you’ll be arrested if you go in here with a gun.” They’re already walking out of there with multiple counts of murder, and you’ll notice no mass shooters are charged with carrying a gun in a gun free zone. And even if they are, it didn’t stop them in the first place. The only people that it stopped were law-abiding citizens who were scared to break a really stupid rule. And if there’s nobody good that’s armed in there, people will die. You can’t outrun a bullet, and the police won’t be there in time to shut down the thing before any damage is dealt. Concealed carry saves lives, because it gets a gun in on the innocent side as soon as the situation starts. And, as Wyatt Earp said “If you can’t see my gun, and more importantly, you can’t hear my gun, it’s none of your business.”
