Interesting whataboutism. Didn't I say that the tenet of racial humor is to make fun of your own race as well, to avoid appearing racist?

I am a student of all comedy, including the Monty Python crew. I cut my teeth on the first class of Saturday Night Live (Chevy Chase, John Belushi era), Richard Pryor, Steve Martin, Cheech and Chong, Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall - and what really left a mark was the work of the great Sam Kineson.....his greatest gift was the ability to make everything a joke.

I enjoy Archer, Family Guy, George Carlin, Aziz Ansari, Robin Williams, Victor Borge, Futurama, Gabriel Iglesias [sic?], Wanda Sykes, Melissa McCarthy, Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, Ron White, and Larry the Cable Guy, Richard Pryor, George Carline, Eddie Murphy, Bill Cosby, Steve Hofstetter (not as well known, small-time stand up comedian, uploads his highlights to Youtube.) Amy Schumer, Sarah Silverman.

I could list all of my favorite comedian actors, but I think you get the idea, I have a very large palate for humor...

But if I don't... That's what you'll probably poke at... *Sigh*

John Candy, Steve Martin, Steve Gutenberg, Tom Selleck (did some comedy), Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, Kevin Kline, Steve Buscemi [sic?], Will Ferrell, John C Riley, Adam Sandberg, Chris Farley, David Spade, Kevin Hart, Christ Tucker, Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Adam Sandler, Rob Schneider, Whoopi Goldberg, Jackie Chan, Owen Wilson, Mike Clark Duncan, IceCube, and yes, even Alan Rickman could dabble in comedy. (Ever watch HitchHiker's Guide?) Rick Morranis, Bill Pullman, Bill Paxton, and you gotta love Tom Arnold....

There's so many I am not mentioning, but this is what I can think of off the top of my head. I have enjoyed each of these individuals and have never been disappointed by either.

Appreciating humor and being funny are two different things. Many people appreciate humor. Being funny, that just isn't in your wheelhouse.

Insulting me would be a great way to showcase your creativity, and might even gain some respect from me....but then you swing with that "cabbitch" line. That's an elementary school joke. Pre-teens would have giggled at that one because "he said bitch....tee hee hee". I'm expecting a dick joke next.

If "cabbitch" is the best you can do, you should give up.

Start with self-deprecating humor - bust on yourself for a while, in front of other people...see if you can make them laugh without quoting a real comedian.

That said, how is it that I need to be funny to appreciate the image you posted? You claimed I have no sense of humor. So, is sense of humor the ability to create jokes? Or the ability to appreciate comedy?

Half the comedians you listed told jokes just like the ones you're butthurt over seeing on imgflip. A sense of humor - a real sense of it, would allow you to appreciate them.

The vegetable joke, where I posted Elvis and you wanted it to be Stephen Hawking......That's really pretty tasteless, because of his ALS disease...and you just called him a vegetable. Well done!

You see, this is how I would have addressed the "if you were a vegetable" joke. I would not have gone with actual vegetables, I would have kept you a person - but implied that you were a vegetable (as in, vegetative state), and then had some fun with it.

They were also known to make fun of their own race. They told racial humor without being racist about it.

Yet you immediately start calling me racist when I mentioned no race at all. That's the worst kind of woke - you're looking for a boogeyman, any boogeyman will do - even if you have to invent one.

And to be honest, I haven't been in school for over ten years, so that cabbltch seemed pretty original to me. I'd never heard it until now; thought it was excellent wordplay.

Again, an ingredient of humor is relatable context. I assumed you were referring to Mexican Immigrants. I stand by that assumption given your meme history and what political values you hold.

My children are 13, 3 and 3 months. The 13yo lives with her mom. Because of COVID, I haven't been able to spend time with her for the past year. Though, I just got vaccinated with my second shot yesterday as I am in several of the high risk categories for severe, life-threatening symptoms for COVID.

The issue is, that some people don't care whether Mexicans are "legal" or not. They call them "illegals" just the same whether they're born here or not. Those people, they are the loudest mouths and betray the humor you're trying to present.
