The Warden lives in an extremely rare biome. There is only one warden per world. The chances of running into one are astronomimcally low. I should know. I haven't once encountered it (partly baecause it's still not in the snapshots...). If anything, those new caves will be incredible and will make you want to update. But, it's still your choice. (Btw, you won't be able to connect to public servers unless you update...)
