yes, basically

I just like lams because its lgbtq and lgbtq ships are always better then straight ships

just because its lgbtq doesnt mean its any less chaotic, im pan myself and I always preferred the straight ships(imma sucker for jeggy okay) and the lesbian ships rather then the gay ships.

BUT we shouldnt be shipping historical people in general

we aren't shipping the history people, we're shipping the personified history people

okay first of all, Hamilton x Jefferson is a bad ship in my opinion

and also legacy is a theme of the musical and we're making ships based on the musical and Lin himself who made the musical literally confirmed that the line "hey Laurence I like you a lot" was a reference to the ship, in other words Lin literally supports the ship

and continuing people talk about how cute Hamilton and Eliza were and it's okay because it was cannon right? well then it should be okay to ship Lams bc it was also cannon.

lams may have been canon and it's ok for people to appreciate the fact that they were historically together, but shipping them and writing fanfics goes too far.
if you want to put it in perspective imagine one of your relatives had died and then some people found out that the person who died was secretly with someone else, and then they started making fanfics, fanart, and smuts about it. that would be weird, right?
the same thing goes for shipping characters in Hamilton. they may have been dead for a while but it's still weird and honestly, not that different. also lin may have put in hints that they were more than just friends but that does not mean that he's always like "I ship it! uwu"

personally I don't support NSFW stuff and fanfics etc. bc yes that goes too far but again, people ship the characters not the historical figures which is okay

like obviously if they were shipping like the actual people, not the over personified ones that would be awfully weird but I think its alright when it comes to over personified versions because they aren't the actual people though I do see the point in of that it's disrespectful and weird

I guess what I'm saying is what I sorta think about the furry community which is that being a furry is fine and that you shouldn't have anything against them but NSFW and weird stuff isn't good, and really the dark side of the community but besides that, the part I don't think is okay it's completely fine

same, in my opinion the nsfw fanfics go too far

but I don't exactly believe that ships are a way to honor their legacy b u t. Everyone has different beliefs and views.

But AGAIN, NOT TO BE HOMOPHOBIC lams is taken wayyyy to far within this fandom, and yes Lin did say that, he also said he read most of the fanfics which terrify me, but from that I would assume that Lin was talking about the historical relationship not the ship.

When you look into the ship and the historical relationship its two different things which of course it's gonna be different.

I'd like to quickly note I personally don't like the NSFW fanfic or whatever because it just generally makes me uncomfortable and I'm against that sorta weird stuff because its disturbing

but I still think it should be okay to ship the characters not the historical people. Like when we personify the characters they are completely different people with the same name, appearance, etc. and in a way shipping is sorta honoring their legacy because we're acknowledging it and perhaps maybe these ships are their legacy
