ok so i got back on and let me tell you that his feelings have got nothing to do with who you are, you cant change his feelings, thats just something that happens. Also if you cant get over him, force yourself to get over him, it may be hard but distance yourself from him and hang with a new dude, even if you dont like him, just become friends, make new ones, and so on so forth
