Yes, but the thing is a corrupted individual can do FAR less damage in a free market society than a centrally organized one. If there's a problem in markets (corruption, manipulation, monopolies, etc) then the government comes in to correct it. Then it backs off and lets the market run again...obviously there are exceptions (some fields will warrant some degree of government involvement or another), but they just prove the rule that people are best when left to think and decide for themselves.
