Alright, clear your mind of everything you know about Star Wars and all of its plot.
Now, let me pitch you a story....
Fringer with no background and missing relatives discovers that he/she are on a path for greatness, this is caused because the discover he/she have latent abilities. He/she finds they are a natural at doing things. What others have to learn, for them, it comes as naturally as breathing. They go on a mission to save an oppressed people from a menace in space who is bringing despair on an entire people. Against all odds, they destroy it.
In the next movie, we are faced with emotional turmoil. They learn something terrible about their past. Something they will have to learn to cope with going forward. It is in this time that we are on the precipice of war, everyone is marshalling their forces/regrouping for a final big battle. We took a hit here, but we'll survive.
In the final movie they have come to grips with the reality of their past and any new attachments that come along with it. Only now, they have to confront their past. They have to confront someone they really don't want to, and it is a test of will. A test of character.
