Like Rey was not paralyzed by Kylo Ren and lost complete control of her body which is a reference to being Raped. It's not like she wasn't captured and Kylo fought to damage her mind and force information out of her, another reference to rape. It's not like she questioned herself after she accidentally overcharged her power and thought she killed Chewie, thus leaving her to question herself and doubt herself, believing herself to be cursed to follow in her relatives footsteps. (Trust me, that *is* a total mind f**k). It's not like Rey was sprinting during her training course and the remote got infront of her foot and tripped her, then shot her in the side. (The Rise of Skywalker, Training Scene) It shot her again after she swung at it and missed.

Luke didn't really care about losing his hand, it was replaced with cybernetics and actually served to buff him as his hand had been shot and was still able to use it. Coincidentally, his sword-hand.

As for being nearly Frozen, that should have killed anyone else. But, like always he gets lucky during insurmountable odds and comes out okay with no permanent damage. So, it all worked out in the end. It was just a plot device to spend time to give the Dagobah quest and stall his time before he really gets to work in the plot.
