A fair and lovely princess
Was cursed so long ago
By a rival kingdom
Covered all by snow

“She will never find a husband,
Nor have kids of her own,
After you are both dead and gone
No king will sit on this throne”

Her parents brought her to a fortune teller
To try and lift the curse
The fortune teller tried to help
(Although they thought this might be worse)

“Lock her in a tower
With tall ceilings and rafters
A knight will come and rescue her
And they’ll live happily ever after”

So king and queen decided to
Hide their daughter away
Until a knight could rescue her
That knight would save the day!

The princess was now older
But she still had that curse!
No new news had reached the kingdom
And her parents feared the worst

One day a knight in shining armor
Came riding through the town
“Excuse me miss, I’ve heard of you,
Would you like help getting down?”

“Im pretty good at climbing,
And though I don’t like to boast
I can carry you down easily
And some possessions at the most”

“Who are you?” The princess cried
“What even is your name?
I should like to know who’s saving me,
My life is not a game!”

The knight dismounted the horse
And tossed the helmet to the side
Green eyes stared up at the princess
As she felt her own get wide

The knight cried out
“My name is kaya, I’m not here for your crown!
And if it’s ok with you princess,
I’d like to help you down”

Kaya climbed up and got the princess
And they mounted her steed
They rode on to her kingdom
With record-breaking speed

The royals were so happy
Their daughter had come home
They threw her and her wife a wedding
As they sat upon the throne!

The moral of the story is
Love comes in all shapes and sizes,
Just take a moment and accept all,
You will be in for some surprises!

When Hayden was older, she and her girlfriend married. She then wrote the book and gave it to a publisher. The publisher rejected her book, saying "This isn't a thing for little kids. Gay relationships are inappropriate for young children." Hayden disagreed and walked away. Her wife wanted her to give up, but Hayden said "Of course someone doesn't like our idea, but we shouldn't give up." She gave it to 17 more publishers, but they all said no. She wanted to give up, but remembered why she wanted to try. She then gave it to an 18th publisher, and they accepted. Hayden's book became a bestseller. Hayden keeps publishing more books. And Hayden finally got what she dreamed of.
