I agree, the dream of socialism seems ok, but all it does is it shifts power, it doesn't get rid of it.

In some cases, yes. However, success is totally possible! Take a look at, say Norway or other Scandinavian countries. They're socialist democracies (NOT communist, that's different). NZ, Canada, and other European countries are good examples as well

You'll notice that Republicans tend to use Robin Hood as a zeitgest festival. If you watch Prince of Thieves again, there's a weird bit at the end were Morgan Freeman is giving a speech about the fall of the Berlin wall. It's bizarre.
