I've never come across anybody that doesn't know the meaning of newb. I frequently see where people have misspelled it. It is short for newbie, as in NEW at something and not very good at it yet. Noo is meaningless and, hence, so is noob. I will give high praise, though, for not using nub. Indeed, I will give an up vote just for not using nub. Newbie and newb have a long history of usage in the military. It's worth preserving traditions, it shows that you are not a newb at life.
