Dungeons and Dragons. A medieval roleplay game equally based on rigid rules and pure imagination. It's a perfect balance. You have a DM creating and controlling this universe, and players, each represented by a character of their own design. No two characters are the same- mix up races, classes, and subclasses. The dice are the only thing stopping the DM from having absolute control- the DM decides how they're used, and the dice decide your fate. There's a d100 (2 10-sided dice) a d20, d12, d8, d6, and d4. It'll cost $50 for the giant rulebook and 10-odd dollars for dice (for a casual player) and up to $300 for an avid player, but it is seriously the best party game and can be played endlessly.
I really made that sound like an ad

another response to last question
No. In 2020 they made a few more pre-built adventures for purchase, and warned players to social distance, but didn't touch the Player's Handbook (the necessary book)

Zoom calls, discord games, so forth. It all works as long as you're honest with the dice.

it would be weird if they did a screen with remot wheels and the one who is controlling it is the covid person and it has no arms

Well I do have one question is it really expensive and do actually have to make the rules just tell me yes or no

response to last question
huh
well, that depends
if you're casual and just need the manual, it's less than a AAA game, and with how much more playability it has, no, that's not expensive. Once you start adding more books (DM Guide, Monster Manual, Guide to Everything, etc.), it gets ungodly expensive. I don't know what actually having to make the rules means, but I assume you're asking how rigid the rules are and if you have to follow them. You do, and they're rigid to the point of functionality, but it kind of flows.
TL;DR, mixed and (i assume) no

so is it expensive in a way but cheap in another way?

Yeah. It'll last you as long as you want it to, and it is fun to the end. The initial cost of$50 is a bit for a minute, though. Not to mention that every decade or so, the book gets updated. Edition 5 has been running since 2014.

what about 2020 for the book let me guess covid-19 was in the book update?

HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
No, you don't make the rules. The rules are a barrier between a player and the DM. It keeps the DM from presenting someone with certain death while giving the players a challenge. The DM decides how the rules are applied and used within the confines of what the book states.
TL;DR, the answer on the second bit actually is no
