Those statues had nothing to do with documenting history, most of them were made in the 1920s- 1960s to be a "f**k you" to people who were protesting against jim crow laws.

We learn history so that it doesnt repeat itself. The reason it repeats so often its because people dont learn history(like the people taking down statues as an example)

Agreed. A better solution IMO is to build context around it. A civil rights monument/display.
