The soviets tried to use dog bombs to take out enemy tanks but when in combat they would go to the Soviet tanks instead

Well you have to remember that a lot would have changed if the confederate states outlasted the civil war and since the US would have been smaller that would mean Japan would have limited contact with the rest of the world
