Okay, I don't wanna start a fight in the comms or anything, but isn't your kid gonna be a little confuzzled when they are growing up? A child can barely look after themselves, and you leave them to decide something they have no idea or experience of?
I'd understand if you would let them decide when they have understood the roles gender and sex play in society, but a toddler.
F**k hetero/Cis normity, but this don't sit too well with me.

Well, let's say the baby was a girl, but when they are...not super girly, and they turn into a tomboy realize that's who fits them, and they are trans or don't fit into either category, so they could be non-binary.
[deleted]
0 ups, 3y
Yes, but being a girly girl isn't what being a girl is about. I'm a tomboy irl, and if I grew up gender neutral, I would've said I was a boy for some things (Such as all boy teams), and then a girl for other things (Toys, all girl teams etc). It wouldn't be fair on other kids my age who have to deal with the good and bad on their gender and sex, while I could have the best of both worlds, and the worst of none.
[deleted]

Well, it's born with a gender. It can make its own choices, but that can't be changed.
[deleted]

As in, it will be born and will be referred to as its biological gender until it makes that choice.

how old are you? arent u to old to still have a child like imagination

That's the opposite of childlike. It is inevitable that every creature on earth is born a gender. It's childlike to say they aren't.

The 2VC is a subset of catholicism in which there are essentially updated rules. If you have gay sex or gay relationships and don't seek forgiveness, you have committed a great sin.

Glad we share that point. As a Roman Catholic, I condemn homosexual actions but love homosexual people.

but dont the actions of a man define a man and if u condemn his actions u condemn him

The thing is, everything can be forgiven. Most LGBTQ+ people can't help the way they are, but if they seek forgiveness, then forgiveness they shall earn. If they fail to, however, they are judged.

As a Christian, I agree

Over time, opinions change about wrong and right. Hence, we have the Second Vatican Council. As it currently stands, carnal homosexual relationships are a sin.

im not that religious to understand what u js said

But it would be a lot better to not do that and wait for the child to make that decision. A lot of dysphoria stems from being perceived as your biological sex when it doesn't align with your gender. Having that decision made for you just makes coming out much harder. If deciding for yourself were the norm coming out would also become the norm and it would be a lot less scary. And anyone would still be free to identify as cisgender if that's what they feel like. 🀷

It makes sense, but referring to a child as it before the child makes its decision has got to wear them down.
0 ups, 3y
It doesn't have to be "it"... It could simply be "them".
