Even people in the U.S. who are LGBTQ can lose their jobs and housing and people get away with doing that to LGBTQ people. For instance, you come out as gay, and the next day people at your work start treating you bad just because of it, and then you lose your job for some stupid reason as a cover up for homophobia.
