I honestly think that java is better because it can be easily changed with data packs, and I can make my own skin. Java also runs with better graphics

You go onto a skin website like skindex, and then you can make your own skin, then you download it onto your computer, then you can go onto the minecraft launcher then you can like add a skin, or you can edit the existing options of Alex and Steve
