Yes this is a good idea but mojang probably wont add it because 1 they just added a new armor and also anyone with an emerald farm would be to OP(go look at LukeTheNotables hardcore). Also, they would have to make it better than netherite, otherwise no one would want it, or use it because to get that much emrald you would have to have either millions of TNT and live in a huge extreme hills and constantsly mine or set up a huge merald farn

The purpose of emeralds is to be used as currency. lapis is enchanting, redstone is machinery. not all ores need armour.

picky, picky, picky. what about iron? it's mainly used to make other stuff such as pistons or stuff like that. as you said "not all ores need armor"
