my parents have some friends who are gay or lesbian and I met them. I will admit, I didn't think it was bad or anything but I thought it was a bit strange because I was so used to seeing straight couples. also my parents used to sell stuff from our farm when we still had one and one of our customers was a trans woman. alright, I'm joining this trend; I didn't think much of that and still thought of her as a woman even after I found that out so the concept of being trans was not weird or surprising to me. also I met people of the lgbtq community in 6th grade and that's when I learned about bisexuality. and then I joined the Hamilton fandom (the weird part where all of the characters are turned gay and whatnot) and I had to do research to understand some of the s t u f f on there. after I joined imgflip and watched she-ra I understood everything XD
