Inevitable

People are hurricanes
They have names and
Will destroy everything you have
You'll be optimistic one day
And the next
You'll be watching every bit of progress you made swim away in the floods of damage
You'll recreate the things you lost stronger than before
Only for the damage to be worse than before
And you'll be the one who has to fix it
The damage will persist as does your tenacity and dedication
But eventually
No matter what you do
It'll crumble as you watch helplessly
As the hurricane takes everything from you
Just as words from a person shatter you
And eventually
You give in to the flames of pessimism
As all you can do
Is sit and wait
Until the inevitable
Steals it all once more, alone.
