Well, do you think that they'll accept? If so, you can start wearing things like bracelets that have the colors of the non-binary flag. Or, when it's a good moment when they aren't angry/sad or busy, could say "I think I'm not [insert previous gender here] anymore." Or, if they call you he/she, you could say "can you please call me they/them". Or, if they deadname you and you already have found a new name for yourself, you would say "can you please call me [insert new name here]?". Anyways, whatever way you choose, you're valid!

Honestly, the best advice I have is to just be open and direct with it. I only have 1 non-binary friend and I had to ask for their pronouns lol. The only way I found out is when I called them a “he” (they used to be a he). They got upset in a passive aggressive way and I had to figure out I was wrong instead of them just correcting me there. I felt terrible and ended up apologizing when I had the chance. All of this to say to just avoid a situation like this.
