a gallon of battery is about 85 pounds :) EV weighs about 700 pounds more than gas car, so 250 mile range means 250/30 mpg = 8.3 gallons worth of electricity equivalent in that battery. 700 pounds additional weight divided by 8.3 "gallons" = 85 pounds per gallon :)

you pay for gas. not oil. just because its a little bit cheaper for Canada to risk our environment getting their nasty crude oil over the border, it then gets refined, you buy the refined product, Canada saving money at the risk of our ground water, does nadda, zip, zero to change what you pay for a refined product. the oil is already coming in, its just transported via truck and train. .... got it yet?
