I understand where you are coming from. The States are far from a horrible country or a perfect one. It isn't the most racist, of course. The States have the most immigrants, from which are actually people of color.
But to be frank, the "democracy" is very flawed. They scored fairly low on the Index in 2020 compared to other countries.
The United States' brother, Canada, even scored higher at 5th place.
Who was first? Norway, followed by Iceland and then Sweden. Now, in all honesty, the index is kind of flawed. Sweden is one of the most racist countries, yes. But it almost balances out with laws the States do not have, or that Sweden doesn't have and the States do.
The States continue to have the gay panic law, which let's citizens murder equal citizens because they are thought of "lesser" for being lgbtq. Sure, some cases do not pass, but a lot have and still do.
Both groups of lgbtq and POC are slowly inching up to their deserved rights, like how Christians and Jews did. Did, past, not present.
Sure, some have their own beliefs on those two groups, but you will never be able to fully stop hate.
However, right now, lgbtq+ and POC are not in the same safe spot as Christians and Jews.
I will agree that the States can be a good melting pot. My science teacher lives on the same road with a former resident of Nazi Germany, mexican, two canadians, and her husband is from Sweden.
George Washington did not like the idea of two political parties, but the States drained out his opinion. And look what has happened. We have conservatives using "liberal" as an insult, and liberals continuously making fun of former Pres. Trump.
No one is at peace with each other anymore. It's disgusting.
There's more.
Sorry for the mouthful.
I'm not exactly disagreeing with you, more as informing?
