I haven't watched the show, gotten cards, or checked new pokemon in forever

allow me to give you a heads up, Sun and Moon the anime ended in Pokemon Sun and Moon: Ultra Legends and we now have two new games in the new region called Galar, Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield, with the two new legendary Pokemon, Zacian and Zamazenta, you also get three starter pokemon to choose from, Scotbunny, a fire type, Sobble, a water type, and Grookey the rass type. In this reigon, you get the ability to dyamax, which makes a pokemon bigger and doubles a moves damage (Like Thunderbolt, if you were to dynamax a poemon who weilds this move it will become Max Lightning.). And if you had the pokemon that has the ability to gigantimax, it will have it look different and have it use a special move. (Like Charizard is able to gigantimax and so its special move is called G-Max Wildfire.) you then enter the Gym Challenge once you are endorsed by Leon, the champion of the reigon. if you know how the gyms and pokemon league work, you should know what happens. You then, before battling the champion if you beat all others who were also in the pokemon league. End up meeting Chairman Rose, who will show the power of Eternatus, the one who made the darkest day happen years ago you and your rival Hop use the legendary sword and sheild to then summon Zacian and Zamazenta to defeat eternatus and you catch it, then you battle the champion with you having eternatus, then you befriend whatever legendary you have of what version you have, but you run into Swordbert and Sheildbert, the desendants of the heroes who fought the darkest day alongside Zacian and Zamazenta. They think that they should catch the legendaries since their family had befriended them long ago. you battle them both with Hop, your rival alongside you. So on after you over throw Swordbert and Sheildbert you then befriend once again what versoin of the game you have, them the DLC of Ilse Armour come out, you meet at the Wedgehurst sation of someone of your rival in what version you have, Avery in Sheild, and Klara in Sword, Avery uses pshyic tyops and Klara uses big types. you catch a galarian slowpoke and then you make your way to the Ilse of Armour where someone who had the invitation gave it to you because they were scarded because simething was going on outside. This is where you meet your version rival, you bttle them and then you make your way to the Dojo. where you see a Alohn diglett, a hiker went to Aloha and chught 150 of these three hairs, and so as a side quest you can find them

for alohan pokemon, you them meet the Dojo master, Master Mustard, and his wife Honey, they give you a dojo outfit but your version rival needed one, you now are doing trials so you can be worthy to get a special pokemon the first one was getting your verson rival his/her's dojo outfit back from three slowpoke who run fast, after battling and defeating all three the next trial is finding a Max Mushroom, which if you find three you can make a pokemon who can giantimax but isn't able too gigantimax. greedent (a new pokemon in the game) came in the forset where some of the max mushroom where supposed to grow in ate them all up, so you find one in a cave and see your version rival. you battle them for the mushroom and you should win, they then say that they can find another one and run off, you return to the dojo with the Max Musroom and so does your rival, since there were two instead of one you battle them and supposedly won, you then get a pokemon called Kufu, and you have to train them and give it love before you can go to he Tower of Water or the Tower of Darkness, you train Kufu and have it become your best friend and show it to Master Mustard, then he introduces you to the towers and you choose one, you then go up each tower battling and defeating each trainer on there untill you get too Master Mustard and then battle him and his Kufu, and then defeat him and then have your Kufu evolve into Ursifu, there are two types of Ursifu, Single Strike Style and Rapid Strike Style. what ever tower you choose Master Mustard chooses the other one for his Kufu, you then battle him again and then finished the DLC for the Ilse of Armour. Now there is the new DLC, Crown Thundra. you first meet Peony and his duaghter Nia, Nia dosen;t want to do the adventures her father has made for her, so for her to fun off you battle him. and them follow him to the Max Lair where you can catch alot of Legendary pokemon, you then catch Suicune, and then you go to camp where you are named Cheif, you do tasks and then you meet a pokemon called Calyrex who was known as The King of Bountinful Harvests, and the the towns people forgot about him. you then have the towns people remember them and then you have him reunite with his Stallar, where the carrot is planted you can get a different type of one. you then battle Calyrex in his new form and catch him, then a unknown tsk appears, WE NOW GET TO CATCH ULTRABEASTS. you catch alot of ultrabeasts and Necrozma. and thn get a Nebby who evolves

deoending on what game you have, Sword solgaleo, Sheild Lunala. you can fuse them together from someone on the Stow-on-Side. you then get a call form Leon the former champion and new Chairman about him having a surprise, and it is the Galarian Star Tournament, you battle alongside your rival Hop and possibly win, the you finished the game, BUT WAIT- Peony is Rose's younger runaway brother!!! he ran away because his intelligence was compared to all the time by his brother so he left and became a Gym Leader, and then became a champion once but then left when Rose became Chairman. He was and still is known as Stellspike Peony. Now for the new Anime called Pokemon Journeys, it is on Nexflix and it has just finished the Darkest Day Arc, the japenese one idk. I hope i helped you get all caught up, i also enjoyed it
