I work on bitmap layered and change size in the costume editor to let it fit. I lengthen or shorten my text to make sure it is trapped in the box. I delete text by copying a color and drawing over it with that.

If I accidentally click the compass and everything goes under it I use the code block to make it go to the back layer. I copied the yellow square for danny, deleted it. Made a new blank sprite and pasted the new one and used the change color block for it.
