Basically the SCP Foundation (Secure, Contain, Protecc) is a secret international organization that contains anomalies like phenomena, entities, or even just normal words that are actually disguised as info hazards (a anomaly that if there is any info about, like a document or someone speaking, itself, it will cause anomalous properties to the beholder of the information). These anomalies are classified by the SEKTA Classification Test: They can be either Safe, Euclid, Keter, Thaumiel, or in the most absurd and extreme cases, Apollyon.
Safe: Easy to contain, won't get out. May cause damage of provoked or disturbed.
Euclid: Not known about as much as other SCPs. They can be very dangerous.
Keter: Just don't frick with them. They are very-hard-to-contain anomalies that will most definetely cause your death. Containment is not just needed for the sake of science - it's also for the sake of humanity.
Thaumiel: No, these SCPs aren't specifically worse than Keter SCPs - these, on the other hand, can actually help - in the form of their products or their matter. For example - SCP-3000, Thaumiel, is a gigantic eel somewhere deep in the ocean that is around 3,000 km long (hence the anomaly's number). It produces a silvery liquid that is called Y-999 after consumption of food. Y-999 is most commonly used in amnesics the Foundation produces (amnesics are just memory-affecting drugs).
Apollyon: HOLY CRAP, YOU BETTER NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT DR. RE-! sorry, just yelling at another doctor today. Apollyon SCPs are very, very rare. These can cause different reality-bending and XK End-Of-The-World Scenarios. A example is the little-known SCP-[DATA EXPUNGED], or in simpler terms, The Devil.

That's what we at the Foundation do, civilian.
