If you're "having a hard time understanding Ted Cruz went to Mexico because he hates it so much" then maybe it's because he doesn't hate Mexico like you automatically assumed he would.

You do know that the surname Cruz is Spanish and that Ted's father is from Cuba don't you? Cruz isn't a Mexican but he is Hispanic so just don't imagine he hates other Hispanics.

He returned quickly because he only has planned on dropping his kids off in Mexico for their vacation. Ya know because he hates Mexicans so much that he entrusts his kids with them.

Where were you when all of your pro lock down Democrats went all over the world during the pandemic?????

That is one of many reasons why I didn't vote for Trump in 2016.

I don't care what others might say over the fact that I didn't vote for him in 2016. I didn't vote for Hillary either. I voted for the Constitution Party candidate because I didn't trust Trump.

Trump was a hardcore liberal most of his life. He supported Clinton's "assault" weapons ban. A few years before he announced he was running for president he split with the Democrat party and became an independent. Then he became a Republican the same time he announced his candidacy. One of the first things I heard him talk about as a candidate was his support for single payer health care. That scared the crap out of me because the last people I want in charge of my health is the government. Governments that grow too big and too powerful quickly become eugenicists when they take control of your health care. People in other countries that have single payer waits sometimes up to a year for what we can treat within a matter of days or hours (before Obamacare).

Before Cruz was a senator from Texas he was the state Attorney General with an impeccable record. He is one of the most honest politicians to have been in any office in a very long time. So when Trump called him "lyin Ted" I knew exactly who the liar was and it wasn't Cruz.

However, Trump on occasion surprised me and did some things right. But my vote for Trump last year wasn't so much about Trump it was because I knew immediately after the 2016 election that the Democrats were going to cheat so much in 2020 that Trump needed all the help he could get because the Democrats are all about Socialism now. Socialism is slavery and I kinda like being free.

Huh ok. You are probably right, maybe Americans are not ready for a lot of things the rest of us take for granted. Personally I would have thought all the guns are most likely to be problem rather than health care, but what do I know. Universal health care works in Canada and many other countries. Being a citizen of any country of value where government made up of people will work for those people, and if the people don't want it then so be it. Yes some governments have definitely done some bad things, but I don't really see how in this day and age how anyone can be against health care, it makes no sense. Especially after rumpt who was very clear in his authoritarian predilections. Health care? Pffft! I would be more worried about rogue politicians. A country becomes better run when people are healthy, better educated, and don't have to resort to criminality to be a productive member of society. But maybe the key component, education, is limiting folks abilities to see through all the static. If folks didn't need to worry about staying healthy just think how much more money they could make! See I made an appeal to something very important to Americans. Did it work? Seriously though, even mental health is important to a functioning society. If it weren't do you think NASA would have just landed ON FRICKING MARS?!?! I'm surprised that some people can safely drive a car... when they are not drunk.

You should know I'm here for the memeing, not speeches - but you seem to be sincere and persistent so what the hay - don't expect it to be a habit tho. ;)

Single payer health care in Canada is NOT working. That is just one of the countries where the critically ill are put on waiting lists that can go up to a year. What works in Canada is if you are wealthy enough to afford private health care then you can get treated immediately. Or you can do what a lot of Canadians do and that is they come down to the US for health care.

Government run health care is a disaster. Think of how our own VA hospitals are ran. Whenever the government gets involved in something the private sector has been doing for decades, the government version always doubles or triples the cost and the service is absolute crap. There is no exception to that rule. That is because governments are not motivated like the private sector. If a government program fails they throw more taxpayer money at it thinking that is the solution. In the private sector if a private business fails they either have to scramble to improve their product or service or they lower their price. If that doesn't work then someone else comes along with a better product or service. In the end the consumer ALWAYS benefits. With the government the taxpayers are just forced to pay more and more and more.... They mask their failures by saying that we must pay our "fair share".

Not some, ALL governments have and continue to do bad things. That is because malignant narcissists are attracted to power. Governments soon fill up with narcissists or were started by narcissists. Narcissists do not look at the individual as having any value. The only thing they care about is increasing their power and their wealth. Both major parties are filled with narcissists. Trump was a narcissist but how he ran the white house he was far less narcissistic then Obama was. Trump actually did things that run counter to what a typical narcissist would do, like he only took a dollar per year salary as president. People who supported him he treated with a lot of respect. However, he treated the left and the media with contempt but he was not even close to being as contemptuous as the left and the media was towards him.

Trump was not the authoritarian you think he was. However, that being said he did do a few things by executive order, which no president has the power to do under the constitution. Stupid Obama opened that door. Biden has blown that door off the hinges. I don't think he has stopped signing executive orders since he took office.

Did the TV tell you to say that? If you are going to make fun of Trump's surname then you are blowing it. In Germany it was Drumpf, not rumpt.

"maybe Americans are not ready for a lot of things the rest of us take for granted." What do you mean by "ready for". I hear that a lot coming from the left and I cringe whenever I hear it. Somehow the left thinks that people aren't ready to have their liberty taken away from them. You're right and we on the right never will be.

Good for you. I have a friend from England who immigrated to America. His doctor discovered in a routine exam that he was on the verge of a heart attack. That was on a Friday. Monday my friend was having open heart surgery. When his sister, who still lives in England called, she was shocked. She said that not only would he have had to wait at least 6 months but he would have to travel to London to have the surgery. He was from northern England.

So while you are happy with you inferior health care system, my friend would have died if he was still in England.

Yeah so what did it cost? Health care shouldn't just be for the wealthy elites. You would think a populist president would advocate on behalf of his poor uneducated followers. Of course any sane person knew that would never happen.

My friend was retired living on Social Security. He was not a rich man.

Health care is NOT a right, it is and always will be a privilege. To understand that you must understand the difference between a right and a privilege. No one who advocates for single payer has the slightest clue what a right is.

A right is a freedom that cannot infringe on another person's rights. So health care cannot be a right without enslaving the entire medical community and if you force people to work for free then you are infringing on their rights.

If the government pays the health care people that still does not make it a right. It makes it a service. Governments do not have any money other than what they take by force from those who produce and earn wealth. Governments are incapable of producing wealth, instead everything they do destroy wealth. Wealth is the value of a good or service. It is not money. Money can represent wealth but it is not wealth by itself.

So if you "think" you have free health care then you just do not understand taxation. You don't pay your doctor, you pay the government and the government pays the doctor. So government run health care is a service, not a right.

If you think private insurance companies are evil, then you would be horrified if you actually followed your tax dollars through the government to see that you pay 2 to 4 times as much and you get much less coverage. Governments have no incentive to the consumer like private industry does. When a government program fails they just steal more money. The taxpayer/consumer gets shafted.

When a private business fails they have to cut prices. They have to cut their overhead and they begin laying people off. So they have to make sure that they are providing the absolute best goods or services or they will go out of of business. Because of that the consumer ALWAYS benefits.

So go ahead and be happy with your government health care..... while it lasts.

The problem with private health insurance in America is the government. The government passed laws to essentially control health insurance. In return the government always takes the side of the insurance companies if a doctor or group of doctors ever decided to come up with any plan to offer their patients a better plan.

The moron president Obama comes with his plan to force everyone to buy health care and costs skyrocketed and coverage plummeted.

In all cases the problem isn't private health insurance, the problem is the government.

But all in all I would take our health care over Canada's any day of the week.
