Darwin was deceived by a man named Haeckel. Haeckel proposed the embryos of human being and certain animals developed in the same way. He produced drawings of man, ape, and a dog in their embryonic state that were apparently identical. He felt this proved common roots. But it was the drawings that had a common root. He made a drawing of one embryo then, after making slight changes to it showed them together. When the drawings were printed side by side they looked the same. This was the work that Darwin used in The Descent of Man. It is this book that inspired science to promote the vertical evolution (ocean creatures to man). Darwin’s chief source was based on a lie.
