You know 99% of the damage you take in the Sans fight doesn't come from Sans' attacks, right?
The only reason you die is because of Karma.
Sans himself only does 1 damage with every attack.
So no, Sans is not practically a god.
Karma, however, actually IS a god.

So his attacks are karma then? Lol

Well, his attacks aren't Karma, but they inflict Karmic Retribution (The poison-like effect).
