I was a kid, listening to Christian talk radio, and I was following Bush / Gore news in 2000. It seemed like a lot of Republicans had Christian (or somewhere along the line) values, so I naturally liked that. I'm technically an independent, but I favor more conservative and libertarian viewpoints.

When the BLM protests started and they stopped the production of LEGO police sets, the tv show COPS, and started burning down shit. I also saw how the libs supported them.

All I can think about is the song by Tyson James.
I've always been raised as a conservative. Have good, smart parents.

I was already trending in the conservative direction thanks to my parents, but I wasn't really evaluating positions and policies, so the influence of pop culture still kept me on the fence.

The September 11, 2001 happened.

Was Bush perfect? Hell no. Was he the better man to have in office to handle that moment? As opposed to Al Gore? Without a question yes.

I held my nose and voted McCain because I was really voting for Palin as a backstop and I knew Obama would be insanely radical.

I was active in local Tea Party groups in 2010.

I held my nose again and voted Rombley because Obama had proven himself to be insanely radical. I was mostly voting in state elections - Romney rode Ted Cruz's coattails as far as my ballot was concerned.

Trump was not my first pick in the primaries, but as the others fell away and he picked up his stride I was happy to vote for him. He saw Hillary for what she was and he had no problem calling her out as it. I did not have to hold my nose to vote for him.

My wife has gotten very involved in local politics and is also an election clerk. She finds the work very rewarding. It gave her great insight into just how blatantly 2020 was stolen.

Yeah, Bush was NOT perfect at all. but some people act like they could've handled a literal TERRORIST ATTACK better. The war probably was a bad idea, but only in hindsight. I literally saw the second tower fall, and I was just a kid, I probably would have done the same thing. Gore was a miserable candidate from what I remember, and Kerry was even worse.

I did NOT vote in 2012, and I'll never make that mistake again. I remember voting for McCain (before I knew about the DC swamp establishment), but mainly because Obama did not seem outspokenly pro-life.
