You tell me how a politician become rich on a congressional salary? I know they keep giving themselves raises, like this new congress did as one of their first acts (because well... Democrats are in the majority).
Some have make a money on speaking engagements while others have made money on books. But what has AOC done? Perhaps there are a lot of Democrat who pay to hear her rant about all of her problems are because of someone else. For some reason Dems seem to like that kind of torture.
So they have to skimming money from somewhere. Do you remember the House post office scandal from about 15 or 20 years ago. Congressmen and women were "borrowing" money from the Post Office that they would never pay back. That all came to light way back then and then it just disappeared without any resolution to that problem. Then there are the corporate kickbacks. Dems love to accuse Republicans of that because it takes the spotlight off of them. But they are just as guilty as the Republicans.
Then there is all that billions and trillions of dollars of pork that both parties (but mostly Dems) cram into any bill they can find. Like the Dems stimulus bill only has about 9% going to COVID relief. The rest is pork.
