she found out I liked girls (i didn’t explain my full sexuality though bc I was still figuring it out at the time) and she sat me down and had a talk with me about “how i’m not gay, but if I was gay she would support me but I’m not gay”

This story is oddly familiar to mine. I came out as demi to my dad and he told me how I'm not demi (he thinks I'm too young to know) and that I need to stay in the closet for another 5-6 years before I can "decide" to be demi. After those years, THEN he would support me. He even told me that if others wanted to know my sexuality (for whatever reason), that I lie and tell them I'm "normal" (heterosexual). Parents are fun :^)

just my opinion but, if she was kool with the fact that you liked girls, she would have already supported you and instead of telling you how to love others
