Is that a frozen lake ?

I dont think so. He looks like he's diving pretty fast. I doubt if they can break through ice to hunt.

I love this picture because I have witnessed kingfishers both diving and feeding chicks very close to where I live.

Wow. That's cool. I've never seen one, that I know of. But I don't live near a lake, either. I see alot of gulls because I live close to the Gulf of Mexico. But we do have a hawk living in our oak tree out back! 😁

I live in the south of England, half way between London and the south coast in a very rural location - Kingfishers are not that common here but I love to see that flash of 'electric blue' It really makes my day !
We do have Common Buzzards and Kestrels really close by and very noisy Owls.
