So basically, if you are chosen for the hunger games, you dont actually go. Its a fragment of your soul that goes. That fragment goes into an alternate universe, hence the games. If your soul fragment wins, it goes back. If it dies, it is lost forever. If 10 soul fragments of the same person are lost.....they are officially dead
