Funny thing - both boxes are just as complicated under the lid. One requires a lot of input to fine tune the output. The other will reliably generate the same output until turned back off.

Both are necessary. Both have a purpose. Neither can really serve the purpose of the other very well, though. Equal but not interchangeable.
