It depends. During that battle, Naruto released a part Nine-Tails cloak because he thought Haku had killed Sasuke. Without the Nine-Tail's power many people had their doubts that Naruto was gonna win. Since Kakashi was busy with Zabuza and Sakura was guarding Mr. Tazuna. But in this case, the Talk-No-Jutsu was pretty useless as Haku sacrificed himself for Zabuza... There's a lot more to know but I don't know which part you're on in Naruto/Naruto Shippuden so I'm not gonna release any spoilers for you.
