You can't catch starters in the wild, but you can get them by suprise trade earlier on

If you want a challenge pick snivy but if you want a good design and not too much of a challenge pick oshawott or if you want to have an easier game and not caring about design pick tepig(I know emboar might be ugly but if you don't care about that then it will be strong.)

oshawott for both cuz snivy is ugly

but water types r pretty readily available so i recommend Tepig cuz it’s objectively the best one. (unless ur gonna get a darmanitan or a fighting type or smthing just choose oshawott cuz snivy is weak)

also i think samurott and emboar are some of the best looking pokemon in the entire series
