There's nothing wrong with what the redditors did, but there's also nothing wrong with shorting stock. This is capitalism, and the stock market needs to have bulls AND bears to function freely.
I just don't want the uproar about this to lead to us little guys having to pay commissions on stock trades again, or even worse, get taxed for trading. Robinhood started commission-free trading and the big brokers like TD Ameritrade had to follow.
I don't trust politicians (especially Democrats) to keep trading cheap and fair for the retail investors (little guys like us). The politicians are in bed with the hedge fund managers and we're not part of their club. I hope this doesn't ruin investing for us.
