If coronavirus was any Harry Potter character, it would be Cornelius Fudge. Fudge was more of a distraction from the far bigger threat of Voldemort, much like COVID is more of a distraction from the much larger societal issues the world is currently facing. Also, Fudge was the reason Umbridge was put in place to do her thing in Order of the Phoenix, much like COVID has led to governments putting in place near-tyrannical lockdowns and restrictions. And Fudge was swept aside once the wizarding community was fully aware of the threat of Voldemort, much like Covid will most likely be largely ignored once the great social upheaval takes place (assuming it does).
