Last I checked a surge was reported to have been caused by peaceful riots. But the surge wasn't as bad considering people were, you know. Wearing masks and practicing safe social distancing not just at the rally, but in general during their everyday life.
Makes sense that an insurrection caused by a large group of violent mask and Covid deniers would be far more likely to spread the virus more quickly.
