OMG, you are so right. My dad started on an out let and left the wire hanging out of the wall. He left it like that for over 20 years. That is why I now finish what I started.
My dad rewired the whole house bizarrely using same coloured wire though-out !
It was like that for 35 years - It never caught fire or even blew any fuses. When I sold the place the buyer was horrified and immediately replaced the lot.
