I don't know. I just got back from a break and my mental health went batshit again.

I’m gonna be back, hopefully for a while since I missed some things. Might delete my reddit so I focus on here a bit more.

For context, I was told you could only catch one Pokémon per route and if something like a cave is connected to a route, that cave is considered part of the route until it physically changes routes (let’s say you entered a cave on route three which spit you out on route four. You could only catch one Pokémon for that area that counts both route 3 and the cave).

So I think technically you could catch a Pokémon for each separate area of the wild area even though it’s all connected.
