just dont give mods the power to do that, because then people will think you said something you didnt say

Some sites have a featured in which users may edit for a limited time only. Such as if you discover an error in spelling or you forgot to add something you can go back and fix these errors until the designated time limit has passed. This will allow users to fix mistakes, but would prevent malicious editing of remarks to hide harassment or trolling. Unless of course previous versions of the edited comment could be seen by clicking "see original comment" or some such feature. I think this would be a good addition to the site.

i just thought about it because of how many times i make mistakes, i hate having to delete the comment and retype it, or make a second comment to correct my error, its kind of annoying, a edit comment would be sweet, but like you said a limited comment edit is even better.

I have so many errors in my comments it's sad. I hate to think that this is what I will be remembered for. LOL
