I will miss the old community and a few of the newer flippers, but I have to go. It's become too toxic.

This site has become toxic. It used to be fun and the majority of users were fun to talk to and bullshit with. We shared memes and had great conversations in the comments section. Everyone upvoted each other's memes and comments and there was a sense of real community between us.

A couple years ago the site caved into a few SJW's who complained about the site allowing political memes in the fun stream so they separated the streams. Since then it's been getting worse. The friendships have all but disappeared. Only a handful of old school users remain and none of them post regularly.

This site is full of rude kids who have no sense of community and have no sense of humor. They don't upvote memes or comments and they don't have the conversations we old school flippers used to have.

The politics stream has become toxic. I predicted that it would when they first separated it from the fun. It has sucked me into that toxicity and I have become part of the problem. I will apologize for the last couple memes I posted and I will remain on this site until February 3rd, the date I joined 8 years ago.

The politics isn't fun any more and the fun stream quit being fun a long time ago. I may poke my head in every once in a while to post a meme, but I won't be responding to comments after February 3rd.

Most of you will blow this off and some of you will say, "who cares, boomer?" But since I've been on here longer than most any of you have, I felt compelled to say something. I'll miss those who I've befriended and even some of the political arguments, but I will be leaving nonetheless.

On February 3rd I'll be posting my last memes and ride off, not looking back. Thanks for all the memories.

do you think the community/global mods enforcing the no underage accounts rule would make the site better?

I don't think that they can really do that efficiently.

I think it would help if they could do it. You have to get users who admit their age and take them out. If they don't admit though you won't know for sure who is underage and who isn't.

I've seen plenty of users that have admitted and that they're underage. Even if the mods just enforced the belief that if you're underage your account will get deleted it will scare a good amount of underage users away. Of course they can't remove every single underage user, but a good portion.

I have seen some as well. I flag their comments when they say their age. Then they are usually removed.

A whole slew of reasons, but mostly due to the changes on the site and the lack of community that it used to have. If you were on here just 5 years ago you'd know what I was talking about.

In all honesty, I feel like the political shit was always toxic, even before the dividing of the streams. However, the fun memes aren't very good any more. I mean, I like that there's a lack of "haha, I hate my wife, bad marriage FUNNY" memes, but the new memes just look like auto-generated bullshit that make no comprehensible sense.

Agreed. I may not have joined very long ago but I see what you mean. This site has become toxic and is now practically run by kids who just spam post things they found from other places on the internet and they have no sense of humor and quite immature.

It's sad to see an experienced and valued user unhappy on the site we all grew to love. I agree with you, the site has changed a lot, and because of that a lot of old school users who were there for me when I joined the site has left.

I'm glad you're not deleting your account, so whenever you decide to come back to interact with the community we can see it's you.

About the generation that has taken over the site, please remember they are new and are in the process of learning about the site. I have spoken to several of them and they didn't know that they were supposed to upvote comments and so forth. So hopefully that will change eventually in the future.

You were close to Socrates, right? If you know where he is or know if he's still on the site but under a different name, let him know I have no hard feelings toward him.
