Well yeah... Typically older people are more like that and grew up in a time where it was frowned upon. You don't have to tell him it's pretty normal for people's parents with LGBTQ kids even to hide it from their grandparents.
But it doesn't make him a bad person. He was raised differently that's neither your fault nor his. Just keep your relationship as normal as possible and you don't need to tell him.
When I came out, mine told me stories of him and his very close friend, who he started a vase and ring collection with and lived with after grandma passed. He loves me for who I am and he has always just hoped that I would be happy too.

Yeah, that sucks. My Uncle [name redacted] is a conservative, and he and one of my cousins are anti-LGBTQ.
