And, so, they set up for themselves an unbreakable shield. Their supposed weakness is their strength. They can't take a hit due to their, "oppressedness", but they can deal hits all they want, and they're patted on the head for, "standing up for themselves."
Now, this might not be such a problem, if they really are as oppressed as they claim. Thing is, they're not. By drawing battle lines against the, "oppressors", with no opportunity for reconciliation, they put themselves in a unique power position to tear society apart. And the wokies serve as useful idiots, pawns, redshirts, and disposables who will inevitably be fed to the woke monster, once they've outlived their usefulness.
