London, England - Acclaimed Christian Fantasy author Stephen R. Lawhead is being cancelled for being an ableist after pro-disabled activist Morgian Rawnson read the second book of his Song of Albion Trilogy, in which the main character, Llew, loses his hand, only for the Good God to give him a new one made of silver later on.
In a recent interview, Rawnson is reported as saying, "When Llew was told by the bard Tegid that he couldn't receive the kingship because he was blemished, I was infuriated. Not that I care for kingship, being an anarchist myself. But the fact that he was limited by his loss of a right hand drove me insane. It's not right. It's not fair.
"And when Llew climbed out of the lake poisoned by Meldron's treachery, with a hand of shining metal where before had been a stump, given to him by the Samildanac, I cried. The very idea that complete, heathy persons are in any way more capable of anything than disabled people sickens me.
"And when the High King raised his hand, and flexed his fingers one by one to prove his worthiness of his position, I hurled the book across the room, got on Twitter, and ranted about how Lawhead is a racist, evil, misogynist, disabled-phobic monster!"
When reached out to for comment, Lawhead never replied, since he's too busy refining his writing technique, hoping one day to surpass the only man who stands in the way of him claiming the title of best fantasy author, J. R. R. Tolkien. Of course, we all know that will never happen.
